They had so much fun together – tons of laughs, plenty of dancing, a few tears, and then more laughing and dancing. It was really good. Then they got the idea in their heads…and hearts…that they could have a bigger impact. “What if we started a company that would make this world a happier place?” The idea of Within took root. It was very good. Within debuted in November 2008. The girls continue to laugh, dance and have fun as they grow Within, and they do so with oodles of gratitude for being able to share something so positive with the world. The shirts and their affirmations encourage people to focus on the best in themselves. The company respects the planet and treads lightly on the earth. And Within supports organizations that help improve the lives of struggling people worldwide. That’s more than just good… It is incredibly amazing! Always the entertainer, she decided at a young age that a career in acting was going to be her path. Later in life, she hit a roadblock on the road to success when she faced a long and life-threatening struggle with an eating disorder. After her recovery she still was missing a light. Finally, a change in her lifestyle and mindset opened up her heart, healed her body, found her inner peace and brought her amazing new friends (who are now her business partners!). “Wearing a creation from Within reminds me of the wonderful things that I am, instead of the things that I am not. I am limitless, strong, present. I am love. A professed lover of transformational books, movies, quotes and people, Laura found a home with the Within concept of gratitude and empowerment. Her passions include delightful yoga practices, fresh organic food, days near the ocean and nights under the stars. Creating Within Organics has been everything she hoped. Designing new inspiring concepts, sharing uplifting affirmations with old and new friends, building relationships with other compassionate, eco-friendly vendors, choosing charitable causes to support, designing new tees, becoming a wiz with a screen printer, – it makes everyday worthwhile and exciting. She currently lives somewhere between the Green Mountains of Vermont, the brick sidewalks of Boston and the beaches of Westport, MA. Laura urges everyone to keep their rose colored glasses on and to create their own beautiful experience in this world. In fact, she loves it so much that she traveled across the globe in search of inspiration – something to give meaning to her life. “I’ve seen some gorgeous parts of our planet and met incredible people, but in my travels I never found quite was I was looking for – a clue to my life’s purpose.” Nikki finally did get a clue, but it was not what she was expected. “When confronted with a cancer diagnosis at age 27, I knew I had to completely transform the way I lived. My high-stress lifestyle had disastrous consequences.” Since then, Nikki has met many teachers and friends who have inspired her in countless ways to grow. “It’s my intention that these shirts help people to remember how utterly amazing they are!
